Obituary of James Walter
James ‘Jimmy’ Walter born July 10,1938 went to be with the lord unexpectedly on July 26, 2018.
The greatest joy in his life was spending time with his family. Fishing was a popular family pastime, traveling to Canada for muskie and walleye and fishing locally to pass this passion along to the next generations. Being a sports enthusiast, he has also always enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports, from soccer to volleyball and basketball. In his younger days, Jim loved bowling and even got his old ball out this last year to teach his grandson how to play. Every family event included heated euchre games and lots of laughter. At every Christmas he would make homemade chocolates with his granddaughter and savoured every bite. An avid Cleveland sports fan, he never missed a Browns, Cavaliers, or Indians game.
Living in Copley, Ohio for 53 years, he loved his home and took great pride in his many vegetable and flower gardens. As children we used to hide between the corn stalks and snack on the snap peas and strawberries. He found peace in his gardening and landscaping and enjoyed helping his children establish their landscapes.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Flo (Ball) Walter, in-laws A.D. (Dan) and Catherine (Lieberth) Whatmough, and daughter Jennifer Marco.
